Solubility of Dental Ceramics in Electric Fields

چکیده

Combining dental ceramics with other prosthetic metallic restorations might release metal ions, thus affecting the oral tissues of patients. In this study, we evaluated electrochemical solubility various in a galvanic experimental setup vitro. Smooth and rough feldspathic zirconium dioxide (at pH 5.5 3.0) were exposed to an electric field. Calcium, barium, selected as parameters determine both types ceramic materials. Among all test groups, more soluble than at low pH. The results indicated that was not significantly affected by presence field, although higher when relatively lower. material had sensitivity acids electrogalvanic processes. We found process increases ceramics. surface quality is important acidic medium, especially for Zirconium are resistant medium exposure clinically relevant

How electric fields modify alkane solubility in lipid bilayers.

The planar lipid bilayer membrane is assumed to be in osmotic equilibrium with the surrounding Plateau-Gibbs border (annulus) and entrapped microlenses. An electric field applied across the membrane raises the chemical potential of the alkane in the bilayer, causing it to shift from the bilayer to the annulus and microlenses. This shift results in a decrease in thickness.

Solubility of hydrogen isotopes in zirconia ceramics

The hydrogen solubility in zirconia (yttria stabilized zirconia, YSZ) using a tritium imaging plate (IP) technique has been measured in a temperature region ranging from 673K to 973K. The tritium distribution in the zirconia specimens was nearly uniform suggesting an equilibrated dissolution. The hydrogen solubility in specimens were rather low (around ppm or below) and showed Arrhenius type te...

Fatigue of dental ceramics.

OBJECTIVES Clinical data on survival rates reveal that all-ceramic dental prostheses are susceptible to fracture from repetitive occlusal loading. The objective of this review is to examine the underlying mechanisms of fatigue in current and future dental ceramics. DATA/SOURCES The nature of various fatigue modes is elucidated using fracture test data on ceramic layer specimens from the denta...
